But the boss will have been hoping to end the campaign with a 100% record, City having won the previous five games this season as we look to defend our crown.
Guardiola said in his pre-match press conference that he was looking forward to selecting some players who hadn’t seen much action of late.
And that’s what happened as he made nine changes to his first 11, with the likes of Stefan Ortega Moreno, Oscar Bobb, Matheus Nunes, Sergio Gomez, Kalvin Phillips as well as Academy graduate Micah Hamilton all starting.
