Manchester City's Under-18s Head Coach Ben Wilkinson was pleased to see his side overcome a tough test with ease as our U18s beat Wolves 3-0.

Jacob Wright opened the scoring at the City Football Academy with a well-taken free-kick after just eight minutes.

Our lead was doubled just before the half-hour mark when Matty Henderson-Hall slotted home after being played through by Ashton Muir, before Alfie Harrison rounded off the scoring with a sweet volley into the top corner.

The victory saw us climb ahead of Wolves, into third place in the U18 Premier League North, and Wilkinson was pleased with the performance his side produced.

He said: “We haven’t played for two weeks and the last performance was some disappointing moments in the Nottingham Forest game.

“We’ve not had much chance to work with the players because we’ve had a lot of players away with England.

“So the things we asked from the lads to give us today, they certainly did so overall quite pleased.”
