Brian Barry-Murphy‘s youngsters extended their positive form in the European competition following a 1-1 draw with the German hosts on Wednesday afternoon.

The first half saw City knock on the door a handful of times with Jaden Heskey and Will Dickson unfortunate not to find the back of the net as we looked to start on the front foot from kick-off.

However, as time went on RB Leipzig continued to grow in confidence each minute, ending the first half and starting the second in a strong manner.

City stuck true to our style of play and, combined with our strong work ethic and determination, Barry-Murphy’s squad continued to fight for a first goal at one end of the pitch while George Murray-Jones was called upon regularly to deny RB Leipzig of finding one themselves.

However, the young keeper was unable to stop a fine finish by Leipzig forward Yannick Eduardo who nudged the ball round Murray-Jones at the near post to open the scoring on the hour mark.

City were quick to retaliate. And in the 71st minute drew level after Jacob Wright‘s fee-kick was diverted into the back of the Leipzig net by their own captain Elias Lenz which meant the points were shared.
