The hosts struck an immediate equaliser, before Erling Haaland found the net twice to maintain our 100% winning record in Group G after three matches.

Akanji, who found the net for the first time this season, was pleased to score and to get the three points in at Wankdorf Stadium in Bern.

“Yeah it did [feel special],” he said.

“We already had a lot of chances in the first half and the second half. I think if we used the chances well, we could have scored three or four goals in the first half, but we didn’t.

“We tried to go in the second half. We gave Young Boys some hope and they had their chances too.

“Then we went up 0-1 and then shortly after conceded 1-1. We reacted to that and scored two goals after.

“I’m really happy that we got the three points. It happens sometimes that you don’t use your chances up front.

“You have got to stay calm and keep attacking.”
