City striker and 2022 World Cup winner Julian Alvarez isn’t the only member of his family playing football in Manchester…

Just over three miles from the Etihad Stadium, the Argentine forward’s two brothers – Rafael and Agustin – are turning out for non-league side Abbey Hey FC.

They share an incredibly close bond, with Julian explaining that some of his earliest memories have involved playing football alongside his siblings.

In the above video, the City forward, as well as his family, come to watch when his brothers’ North West Counties side train at the City Football Academy.

Alvarez has settled in well to life under Pep Guardiola, grabbing seven goals and two assists before the winter break, but that scoring touch is shared across the family.

Indeed, both of his brothers were also on target a few days after the Argentine found the net against Chelsea in our recent Carabao Cup win, with the family once again in the stands to celebrate.

And with Julian helping Argentina to a first World Cup triumph since 1986 on Sunday 18 December, it’s certainly been a year to remember for the Alvarez family.
