Pep Guardiola says City's fans give his side 'momentum' after a Premier League era record run of 21 consecutive home wins.

A win in Saturday’s meeting with Bournemouth will see us to the second longest home winning run in the history of English football, behind only Sunderland across 1891 and 1892.

CITY V BOURNEMOUTH | MATCH PREVIEW

During our run we have scored an incredible 67 goals and conceded just 10 times as our home form provided the backbone of last year’s Treble success.

While Guardiola insists he will not tell his players this statistic so as not to distract them, he is proud of his side’s Etihad excellence.

“It’s better not think to about these milestones, if it happens, it happens.

“We must just do what we have to do to try to win the games.

“The focus is Bournemouth and what we have to do to beat them.

“We’ve felt comfortable at home for a long time. With our people we have our own momentum.”

The boss also highlighted just how prepared his players are for Bournemouth and the challenges of Young Boys and Chelsea after that.

“I saw the team today and everyone looked really sharp in training. Sharp is the right word to use,” he said.

“Since Brighton we’ve won all the games and we have three games before the international break. It is an important week ahead of us starting tomorrow.”
