Pep Guardiola believes City will face one of the Premier League’s strongest teams this weekend.

We travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday for a 16:30 (UK) kick-off against Chelsea.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side go into the weekend in 10th place with 15 points from 11 games.

However, they are likely to be confident after a 4-1 victory over nine-man Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.

Chelsea v City | Match preview

The west London club have had a rollercoaster couple of seasons since winning the Champions League in 2021, finishing third in 2021/22 before slumping to 12th last term.

While Guardiola recognises Chelsea have not been at their best in the last 12 months, he is still wary of the threat they pose.

“Chelsea remain one of the most important clubs,” he said in Friday’s pre-match press conference.

“They won the Champions League under Tuchel against us. It’s true they were not close to win the Premier League in these seasons but they are one of the strongest teams no doubt.

“They’re aggressive and have good patterns. One of the toughest games we have during the season.

“We have try to maintain the level of our game but sooner or later Chelsea will be there fighting for titles. No doubt about that.”
