A full-back of small stature who ventures into midfield, Lewis’ ability and bravery on the ball has seen him on the end of his fair share of hefty tackles from opposing players.

However, the Bury-born Academy graduate is often quick to bounce back up and ask for the ball from his team-mates.
Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Young Boys, he says that treatment is just part of life as a youngster in senior football.
“That comes with being a younger player. It happens to a lot of players,” he said.
“They see a younger player and it’s an easier target for them. It’s a way to get into another player’s head. For me, you can take it as a compliment.
“It can’t affect your game. I just have to not let it affect how I play.
“I accept it’s going to happen, I play how I want to play and shut it out.”
