inspires aims to build confidence and form positive relationships with education

Partnered with the Premier League, and delivered in schools across Greater Manchester, City Inspires is an education programme, which aims to use the appeal of Manchester City and the Premier League to work with groups of secondary school learners who are at risk of not reaching their potential and support them as they move through the education system and early adulthood, giving them the confidence, resilience and skills to succeed.

“I feel more confident and focused on my future and know that although I have only made small steps so far, I can move forward and change with support.”

Inspires Participant, Denton Community Academy

“The impact has been huge across those that have taken part. There has been massive impact across lessons, students have been working really hard and attending lessons. The work that has been completed has been fantastic. The Social Action Project in particular has been huge, introducing sports hijabs to the year seven.

“There has been lots of confidence building and the impact this has had on the students has been huge, to where they’ve been able to present to rooms of people where before this wouldn’t have happened.”

“It will help me in the future to consider my behaviour and attitude, as you benefit and are rewarded if you are good. Also, it will help me when working with others and the qualifications I got will help me in the future.”
