Press preview final game

MEDIA WATCH: Pep has been looking ahead to next season.

MEDIA WATCH: Pep has been looking ahead to next season.

It's time for your media round-up and there's a mixture of match previews and loan news this morning.

We start by heading to the Mirror, who focus on Pep Guardiola's quotes from Friday's press conference and how City fared this campaign.

Ahead of the season finale against Watford tomorrow, Pep has been reflecting on the season as a whole and says that the Blues need to improve next season.

The Spaniard is quoted as saying: "In the Premier League, we didn't fight until the end for the results because two teams were better than us and we dropped a lot of points at home.

"We must improve on that next season. Depending on what happens the day after tomorrow, we are going to finish 15 or 17 points behind first and second. The gap to the leaders is big.

"We have to work harder next season to reduce that gap."

Elsewhere, Watford manager Walter Mazzarri has been speaking to their official website ahead of the clash at Vicarage Road.

The 55-year old praised City as 'one of the best teams', but also believes that the atmosphere on Sunday will help close the gap of quality between the two sides.

Mazzarri said: “I would love the fans to create a very good environment on Sunday, as they have with every game, that will allow my players that go on the pitch to run even more than Manchester City, so that we will do similar as when we played against Chelsea.

“By doing this we will try to lower the difference between us and Manchester City, who I think are one of the best teams.

“If we play similar to how we did recently against Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton, but with a bit more attention to the episodes, we can get a result which I think we deserve.”

Finally, we head North of the border to Scotland as Patrick Roberts plays his final game of his loan spell for Celtic against Hearts on Sunday.

The winger has been speaking to Celtic's official website and he spoke highly of his 18 months with the Scottish Champions.

Roberts stated: "I’ve played a lot of games since I joined the club and I’ve contributed goals too, which is what I came here to do.

"I also came here to win trophies and I’ve certainly done that. At the end of the season I can look back and say my time here has been very successful and I’m glad I came here.

“If Sunday is my last game at Celtic Park, then of course it will be a nice day for me, and I’d like to sign-off in style by showing the fans what I can do. I’m really looking forward to the day and I just want to enjoy it, and enjoy the trophy.”

That's all from today's round-up, we'll be back tomorrow to sum up your matchday media!
