Goal.com, through LaRoma.com, are reporting that the Blues will make the move for Sead Kolasinac, but will face competition from Serie A side Roma.
“Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac could join Manchester City in January, while Roma is also a possible destination, according to his agent Gordon Stipic-Wipfler.
“Bosnia-Herzegovina international Kolasinac is reportedly set to leave the Bundesliga next month, and his representative has now revealed that both City and Roma - who had a bid for the 22-year-old rejected in August - are circling.
“’I think Kolasinac will leave Schalke in January but do not know where he will go yet,’ Stipic-Wipfler told La Roma.
“Rome is a fantastic club and the fans wonderful, is one of the biggest clubs in Europe and then followed with attention the player also last summer.”
Turning the attention to Monday’s clash at the Emirates and the Telegraph state that Sergio Aguero will be in line to make a return after suffering an injury in the 3-1 win against Southampton.
The 51-year old also revealed his delight that the Blues have topped a UEFA Champions League group for the first time and stated his belief that City are improving in the competition.
“It’s never easy – they’ve shown have a good side by beating Porto and drawing with Chelsea,” Begiristain reflected.
“It’s going to be difficult for us but the most important thing is that we show we’re improving in this competition and we’ll fight to get to the quarters.
“The weather sometimes doesn’t help but we have to be ready. At least we play in England – it’s not the same but it’s close. We’re ready to try and improve in this competition and grow.”
Dynamo Kiev are currently top of the Ukrainian Premier League.
Ex-Spurs striker Sergei Rebrov is now the Head Coach and steered them through a group containing Chelsea, Porto and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Begiristain added: “They are a strong side, they will play football and it’s 11 v 11.
“It’s going to be tough. They will want to show people they’re strong, that they are fighting for something. They’re in the Last 16 so we know they are good.
“We are getting experience which is important. We are improving.”
“Aguero has missed City’s last four fixtures with a heel injury he sustained in a 3-1 win over Southampton at the end of November.

“But the striker returned to training with Manuel Pellegrini’s squad as scheduled on Tuesday.
“Provided Aguero suffers no reaction he is therefore likely to be in City’s plans for the game at the Emirates Stadium next Monday night when the visitors will be looking to close a four-point gap on second-placed Arsenal.”

The 38-year old Frenchman believes that the game will be a ‘real test’ of his old side’s credentials and says he is looking forward to seeing how Arsenal deal with City’s game plan.
“The real test and what I want to see is how Arsenal cope with Man City, how they cope stopping them on the counter if they come and sit. Who knows?
“It will be a massive one for the Premier League and I just want to see how Arsenal respond to that one because I’m looking at the return fixtures and Arsenal have to go to Everton, Liverpool, Tottenham, United and City.
“They have all those fixtures so if you can get some points before against your rival for the title [that is important] - although of course, Leicester are top and so you have to mention them.”
