A week into the January transfer window and the stories keep coming, though it’s fair to say today’s batch are a little less headline-grabbing than the previous few days.

In fact, some of the names will be appearing for the first time this morning with perhaps a few YouTube and Wikipedia searches needed to identify the rumoured targets.

We’ll kick off with This Is Futbol’s again claiming City are one of four clubs tracking ‘the new Eden Hazard’ - a link we first brought you yesterday.

They write: “According to reports from The Guardian, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are all targeting Lille prodigy Sofiane Boufal.

“Having emerged as a talismanic entity for the Ligue 1 side since joining their ranks from Angers twelve months ago, the attacking midfielder has naturally been compared to former Lille star and 2015 PFA Player of the Year winner Eden Hazard.

“Tottenham Hotspur have been on the 22-year-old’s trail for some time and were first linked with him back in October. The Guardian document their interest once again, but claim Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United are also targeting the 5 foot 9 starlet having scouted him extensively this season.”

One of today’s most unlikely out-going rumours is surely the Brentwood Gazette’s claim that West Ham will attempt to take Kelechi Iheanacho on loan this month.

Given the Blues’ lack of striking options and injuries this season, it’s hard to see the thinking behind the story but nonetheless, it reads: “West Ham United could be about to make a surprise loan move for Manchester City’s Academy star Kelechi Iheanacho.

“The Nigerian striker has played twelve times for City with most of his appearances coming as a substitute.

“It is believed that the youngster is looking for first team football and with West Ham’s injury hit strike force the introduction of Iheanacho could benefit both parties.

“The 19-year-old has shown his worth in the Premier League already and a stint in East London may well be on the cards.”

And could City about to swoop for a player who was playing non-League football not so long ago.

It would be quite a story for the lad concerned if it did happen with the Nottingham Post reporting: “Former Ilkeston FC attacking midfielder Che Adams has been linked with a £3m move to Manchester City.

“The 19-year-old has caught the eye of the Premier League giants with a series of impressive performances for League One side Sheffield United.

“Adams joined the Blades last season for an undisclosed fee after former manager Nigel Clough beat a host of clubs to his signature.

“A move to City could earn Ilkeston a major windfall as the deal which took him to Bramall Lane included a sell on fee.”

Finally, more new from Down Under, this time via the Daily Mail who suggest: “Manchester City are in talks to sign Australian midfielder Anthony Caceres from Central Coast Mariners this month.

“Caceres is talking to City Group about a proposed £120,000 move, his buyout clause.

“The 23-year-old is not an Australian international so the likelihood is City would place him on loan at one of their franchise clubs.”
