According to Gazzetta World, former United goalkeeper Victor Valdes could be making a switch to the other side of town.
An article reads: “There is a chance of a Spanish reunion in the Premier League next season, as ex-Barcelona men Pep Guardiola and Victor Valdes could join forces at Manchester City.
“The freshly appointed head coach has already recruited Ikay Gundogan this summer and is now hoping to add Valdes as competition to current City No. 1 Joe Hart, according to The Guardian.
“The 34-year-old is currently without a club after Manchester United released the stopper, having spent the last six months on loan at Standard Liege where he played just six games due to injury.
“A switch to the blue half of Manchester could now be on the cards, seeing Valdes join up with Guardiola who he won La Liga and Champions League titles with in his spell at Barcelona.”

Elsewhere, the Manchester Evening News report the incoming boss is keen to capture the services of Leonardo Bonucci, while it’s again claimed City will do battle with United for John Stones.
Writes Rob Pollard: “The 29-year-old was a key figure in The Old Lady’s league-and-cup double last season and starred in Italy’s 2-0 win over Belgium on Monday evening in their opening game of the European Championships.
“The report suggests City officials will look to open negotiations in the coming weeks – but are likely to met by resistance from Juventus manager Massimilliano Allegri.
“Chelsea are expected to challenge City for his signature, with new boss Antonio Conte a huge admirer of the centre-back.
“Juventus are believed to value the defender at around €60million.
“The Everton defender, currently in France with the England team, is highly-rated – and it seems he could find himself at the centre of a tog-of-war between the two Manchester clubs.
“Jose Mourinho made attempts to sign the defender last summer when he was Chelsea boss and remains interested in the 21-year-old.”
The same source have also drawn up a five-strong list of potential full-backs City could target this summer: Ricardo Rodriguez, Danny Rose, Sime Vrsaljko, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Fabinho.
Meanwhile, ESPN believe Leroy Sane has been advised not to move to Manchester.
Jonathan Smith states: “City have been linked with a £40 million move for the 20-year-old, who is currently at the European Championships with the Germany national side.
“However, Naldo who will join Schalke on a free transfer from Wolfsburg, has urged the winger to remain at Schalke for another season to further improve.
“The 33-year-old says that Sane should follow the example of his former Werder Bremen teammate Mesut Ozil, who rejected high-profile offers in 2009.
“Ozil became Werder’s main playmaker -- making 46 appearances and securing his place in the national team for the 2010 World Cup.”
In terms of alleged outgoings, it’s suggested Yaya Toure could instead be ready to see out the remainder of his City contract.
David McDonnell of the Mirror asserts: “City accept few other clubs will be willing or able to match Toure’s £220,000-a-week wages, with the 33-year-old now likely to stay put.
“Guardiola sold Toure from Barca to City for £24m in 2010, and while the midfielder’s influence waned last season, he feels he can still fulfil a role.
“But Toure’s first-team chances look limited at City if he stays, following the arrival of Ilkay Gudongan from Borussia Dortmund, and with Guardiola wanting to buy another central midfielder this summer.”
Switching focus and Belgium manager Marc Wilcots says Kevin De Bruyne could return to training today, after sitting out Wednesday’s session with a hamstring injury.
Quoted in an article on Four Four Two‘s website, he told press: ”Kevin received his care at Haillan. It’s going in the right direction.
“The only remedy to remove tension in the hamstring is rest.”
