We are just one day away from the official opening of the summer transfer window, so no gold stars for guessing what the media are focusing on this morning...

A range of City’s ‘targets’ can be found across the papers and pixels, plus there’s a touch of tour to be found with just over two weeks until City jet off to America.

First to the Daily Mail’s Chris Wheeler, who reports: “Having signed a goalkeeper and a midfielder, Guardiola will now bring in at least three full-backs.

“City are haggling with Tottenham after bidding £40m for Kyle Walker and it could cost the same again to sign Benjamin Mendy from Monaco.

“Dani Alves will join as a free agent after cancelling his contract with Juventus to play under his old Barcelona boss at the Etihad.

“All three players are likely to sign, meaning that City may not pursue their interest in Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand at the moment.

“Despite his impressive attacking options, Guardiola also wants Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez. There is a good chance that City will get him but they are prepared to play a waiting game throughout the summer.

“It would be a surprise if they did not sign a new centre-back as well despite Vincent Kompany’s return to form and fitness. Leonardo Bonucci has been mentioned but that speculation has cooled recently.”

Over at the Guardian Jamie Jackson’s transfer piece is mainly focused on Alexis Sanchez, but there is a line about a highly rated Monaco striker.

He writes: “Guardiola has allowed Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta to leave and so wants to sign two right-backs. Tottenham Hotspur’s Kyle Walker is another target and Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy is the preferred option as the first-choice left-back following Gaël Clichy’s departure.

“City retain an interest in Monaco’s Kylian Mbappé, although if Sánchez does sign it makes the purchase of the 18-year-old, who could cost upwards of £100m, a remote proposition.”

Finally, The Daily Telegraph carry a piece detailing the pre-season tour plans of every Premier League club, with City’s trip to Houston, LA and Nashville featuring.
