Let’s start, though, with Bernardo Silva who has taken to Twitter to ease fears over the injury he suffered in Portugal’s 4-0 win over New Zealand that saw them qualify for the Confederations Cup semi-final.
The midfielder landed awkwardly after tapping home Portugal’s second goal of the game and was taken off at half time as a precautionary measure.
And Silva later tweeted: “Thanks a lot for all your support messages. Everything is fine with my ankle.”
Portugal play Chile in Wednesday’s semi-final, which means if Silva can recover in time, he could come up against Claudio Bravo who returned to action after injury as the South Americans drew 1-1 with Australia on Sunday.
Thanks a lot for all your support messages. Everything is fine with my ankle 😃👍

Meanwhile, the Star’s Paul Hetherington believes Pep Guardiola will swoop for as many as four full-backs in the coming weeks.
With Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy all having departed the Club this summer, Hetherington believes Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy, Ryan Bertrand and Dani Alves are on Guardiola’s radar.
“The City boss is chasing right-sided defender Kyle Walker from Tottenham and two left-backs – Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand and Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy – as he looks to bolster his defence,” he writes.
“His final target is free transfer Dani Alves, 34, his former Barcelona right-back from Juventus.
“Guardiola is becoming impatient for Tottenham and England right-back Walker, 27, to arrive.”
And, finally, one of the more fanciful transfer stories we’ve come across so far this summer.
According to the Star’s David Woods, City are considering swapping Sergio Aguero for Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez!
“City boss Pep Guardiola had made former Barcelona hitman Sanchez, 29, his No.1 striker target this summer,” writes Woods.
“Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has insisted there is no way he will let Sanchez, who scored 31 times for Arsenal last season, leave this summer despite the Chile ace having just a year left on his contract.
“But with Sanchez keen to leave a striker swap for Aguero could be the perfect solution for both clubs.”
