We’re just a week away from the return of Premier League action to the Etihad following the two week international break, and there’s just a couple of City-related morsels of gossip to keep you going this Sunday.

We start with this story in the Express

“Man City could swoop in ahead of Barcelona in trying to sign Arsenal star Hector Bellerin

“The Spanish international is a target for Barca but they are likely to find themselves priced out of the market.

“And that could open the door for Manchester City to make a move after Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger blocked a move from Pep Guardiola last summer.

“He has become a key player for Wenger is clearly having his head turned by all of the interest judging from his comments to Spanish media

“Any player in the world would be very excited to know that Barca are interested. I know there has been interest from City, it’s a compliment.”

Elsewhere Paul Hetherington in the Star believes one City loanee could be making their move permanent in the summer.

“Valencia want to make Eliaquim Mangala’s loan move from Manchester City a permanent deal for £12m.

“The Spanish club are claiming they cannot afford to pay more than that and match centre-back Mangala’s City wages of £110k-a-week.

“But City are likely to hold out for £16m for the French international, 26.

“They paid £32m for Mangala from Porto three years ago but he is not in the plans of Blues boss Pep Guardiola.”
