Manchester City youngster, Phil Foden, has leapt to the media’s attention after an eye-catching display helped England to the final of the U17 World Cup in India.

The 17-year-old is a focus of reports in Thursday’s Media Watch, while Danilo is also full of praise for a team mate at both club and international level.

Sky Sports has described Foden’s performance in the 3-1 semi-final victory over Brazil as ‘pivotal’ as they unpick the reasons for the win.

Writes James Walker-Roberts: “Manchester City’s Phil Foden was arguably the most impressive, looking composed in possession and creating openings with clever passes in and around the box.

“He also started the move for the third goal, spinning away from a challenge, escaping another and then slipping it out for Emile Smith-Rowe to cross for Brewster to score.”

Meanwhile, Danilo has revealed that Gabriel Jesus is one of his colleagues who has impressed him since he swapped Madrid for Manchester this summer.

Goal have the story, in which the full-back says: “He [Jesus] is Brazilian but I did not know him.

“He surprised me because of his quality and maturity despite being 20-years-old.”
