Such was their quality, you could have been forgiven for thinking they were locked in a personal battle to see who could outshine the other.
And that’s why they’ve received so many column inches this morning, so let’s take a look at what’s been written…

Sky Sports: De Bruyne on another level as Manchester City dismiss Leicester
Writes Nick Wright: “There is nobody in the Premier League operating at his level right now, in other words, and that was clear from the start against Leicester.
<>“As in the game against Arsenal, he was pushed into a more advanced role than usual and he relished it, striking the outside of the post with one early effort and prising open Leicester’s defence with a string of superb passes.”
Writes Rob Draper: “But good though Leicester were, superb though they have been all season, what stirred the nostalgia was the sight of Riyad Mahrez again dancing at will through defenders.
“He was unplayable back then in 2016 and it was pretty much the same here. The only difference was his allegiance to Manchester City.
“When you have Mahrez playing like this and Kevin De Bruyne in the form he is, the contest can seem unfair. The pair of them were unfathomable.”
Daily Star: Riyad Mahrez will have felt a fraud - but he’s proven his class to City
Writes Jeremy Cross: “The evening didn’t start too well when Mahrez shanked a shot with his right foot towards the corner flag inside 12 minutes.
“But the problem for the Foxes was that his left foot was acting like a magician’s wand.
“Just ask Ben Chilwell.
“The England left-back had the birthday from hell trying – but failing – to contain the rampaging Mahrez as he reproduced the form that made him the 2016 PFA Players’ Player of the Year after inspiring his former side to the most stunning title triumph of modern times.”

Leicester Mercury: Ben Chilwell reveals what Riyad Mahrez said to him after Leicester’s defeat at Man City
“I spoke to Riyad after the game and he said that was part of their gameplan, trying to get the wingers one-v-one.
“It’s very difficult when they overload the wide areas, especially with the wingers they’ve got it makes it a very challenging game for us as full-backs, especially when it’s for 90 minutes.
“Like I said it was a tough game for us, we tried to keep ourselves in the game for as long as possible but when they’ve got such quality and they’re clinical as well it makes it very difficult.”
