Erling Haaland has now scored against all 21 teams he has faced in the Premier League.

The Norwegian’s second-half finish against the Bees on Tuesday night earned Pep Guardiola‘s side a vital three points in our hunt for a fourth successive title.

It also made him only the second player to have faced more than one side in the division and scored against all of them - with Harry Kane (32/32) the only other to have achieved it.

City 1-0 Brentford | Match report

Of the sides to have been in the league since his arrival in the summer of 2022, Haaland is only yet to face Luton Town having missed the December trip due to injury.

His latest was the seventh time he has broken the deadlock and his fifth winner in the Premier League this season - with no player in the top-flight doing either on more occasions.

In his 55 Premier League appearances, the 23-year-old has found the net an incredible 53 times.

That includes a record breaking 36 strikes in the 2022/23 campaign - more than anyone has ever achieved in a Premier League term before.

This season he has 17 goals from 20 appearances in the league, putting him two ahead of Mo Salah in the race for the Golden Boot.

Chance creation

Rodrigo created five chances for his team-mates in the game - his joint-most in a Premier League match. He also teed up his colleagues five times against Wolves in 2019.

Bernardo Silva also created five chances, the most he has done in a single match since January 2022.

City created plenty of chances throughout the game, totalling 25 shots and an xG of 2.45 compared to Brentford’s six attempts and 0.35 xG.

We also had four times as many touches in the opposition box as Brentford did - with 61 in our visitors’ area and the Bees having 15 in ours.

Quick turnaround

The rearrangement of this fixture due to our FIFA Club World Cup success led to a rare quirk in the fixture list.

Our double over Brentford in February is just the third occasion of a team beating another twice in the same calendar month in the Premier League.

It comes after Arsenal against Bolton in January 2010 and Arsenal against Wolves in February 2022.
