It’s a happy 36th birthday to former City star Micah Richards.

The defender made the leap from the Academy to the senior squad in 2005 in our Premier League Asia Trophy team.

After making his debut against Arsenal in October 2005 on the “most memorable day of his life”, Richards went on to make 228 appearances and scored 10 goals in his 10 seasons with City.

In the 2007/08 season, the former England international became the youngest ever City first-team captain in Richard Dunne’s absence.

During his tenure at City, Richards was part of the 2011 FA Cup winning team which was followed closely by the Premier League title in the 2011/12 season.

And it was that very title win that Richards attributes the new era the Club entered and “has never looked back”.

To celebrate the former City player’s birthday, we have put together a gallery of Micah Richards’ best moments in sky blue below!
