Oscar Bobb says it’s the ‘best feeling ever’ to have a song belted out from the stands about him.

City supporters serenade the young winger with ‘Oscar Bobb, Bobb, Bobb’ to the tune of 1980s party anthem ‘Hot, Hot, Hot’.

And as the 20-year-old put pen to paper on a three-year contract today, he spoke of the pride he feels every time he hears it ringing around stadiums at home and abroad.

“It’s the greatest feeling there is,” he said.

“I don’t know when I heard it the first time but at first it was a bit of a shock.

“Then when I hear it now it gives me a lot of confidence and honestly it’s great.”

Bobb is feeling support from fans off the pitch – and confidence from his teammates on it.

Understandably Bobb was in awe of the Treble winners when he first started training with the first team but he stresses he’s feeling more comfortable as the days, weeks and months progress.

Pep Guardiola has told the media this season that the No.1 compliment for a flourishing starlet coming through is feeling the trust of the lads sitting next to you in the dressing room.

Bobb has that now – and thinks the bond is growing all the time.

“It’s amazing playing with some of my idols growing up. It’s a dream come true,” he added.

“It’s strange talking to my friends back home and they always ask ‘how is it, how is it?’. In a way it is crazy but you do get used to it.

“You start seeing them as people and not stars. And that’s nice.

“I think of course you build that trust over time. But every day training together, it helps a lot.

“I think it’s about how much you demand it and want the ball as well.

“I think I’m getting better at wanting it more and being more confident. But yes it’s great to see.

“I was training quite a few times with the first team last year. And even though there is a skill gap, you could say, I did feel I could contribute or help with some things and I feel every day in training I’m getting better and more used to it.”

The belief in Bobb in the dressing room will have gone up a level after be bagged an unbelievable late winner in a comeback 3-2 victory at Newcastle United, an effort that won him the Premier League Goal of the Month for January.

It was a standout moment in his breakthrough season to date – and he insists he wants more of them in blue.

“It was one of the best moments of my life for sure,” he added.

“I mean just the feeling of helping the team in such an important game was definitely special.

“It makes me want to experience and do it again.”
