Having worked his way through the Club’s youth ranks, the defender’s senior debut in August 2022 marked the beginning of a memorable breakthrough campaign in the first team.
The 18-year-old would go on to feature 23 times in all competitions, playing an important role in a season where City won the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League for the first time.
Lewis’ remarkable rise has continued in the current campaign, but he admits that he’ll remember his and the team’s achievements from 2022/23 for the rest of his life.
However, he’s still on the search for a more permanent display for the medals he collected as part of that historic squad.

“They’re just hung up on the wardrobe,” the defender explained to the press ahead of City’s latest Champions League clash against Young Boys.
“I need to find a better place for them. People want to see them, so I just keep them out.
“We have got the mini trophies, so I have them now, but the main stuff is shirts and scoring first goals.
“I kept a shirt for every kit we wore. I will hold on to that stuff the rest of my life.”
Despite his tender years, Lewis has consistently demonstrated that he’s capable of thriving at the top level, including a man of the match display in our most recent Champions League clash against RB Leipzig.
However, the defender was quick to highlight the important role that fellow full-back and City captain Kyle Walker has played in his swift adaptation to first team football.
For the 18-year-old, Walker’s leadership skills were evident long before he was handed the captain’s armband at the beginning of the current campaign.
Lewis reflected: “When I came in, I was playing full-back. I was stood next to him [Kyle] and that helped me a lot.
“I don’t need too much information in one game. He is one of the best full-backs to play in the Premier League, so anything I can take from him [is great].
“He’s always been a captain with the armband or without.
“He plays with so much passion so it was a no brainer that he could be captain. Everyone has that leadership.”
