Ruben Dias has said it’s a special feeling to be included in the illustrious FIFPRO Men’s World 11.

Dias was named in the team, alongside fellow City stars John Stones, Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, at a star-studded ‘The Best’ FIFA event in London.

It was a proud moment for the 26-year-old who was an integral member of the squad that earned the Treble of Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League as well as UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup honours.

“It definitely feels special,” Dias said after receiving the honour on stage alongside teammate Walker.

“I guess how many players we ended up having in this World XI expresses how successful the season was.

“We just have to keep the focus and keep pursuing more and more trophies because in the end that’s what allowed this to happen.

“Obviously it’s very special to be here for such a special award. But none of it could happen without what we won as a team and that is - and will be - the most important thing.”

City enjoyed the most stellar of years but Dias is now thirsty for more honours in 2024.

We’re second in the Premier League, in the fourth round of the FA Cup and through to the Round of 16 in the Champions League.

Our defensive rock said he’s determined to ‘fight for it again’.

“The biggest improvement you can have sometimes is to be as consistent as you can possibly be,” he added.

“Why not do it again? Why not fight for it again?

“As much as you can try and be there for the deciding moments and hopefully win more and more.

“In the future when you look back, that’s the one thing you can probably be most proud of – how consistent you were able to be.”
