GARETH TAYLOR PREVIEW

“You can see what they’re trying to do [under interim manager Mikey Harris]. There are some things that are similar from when Melissa Phillips was there.

“I think what we’ll see at the weekend is hopefully us getting back to our best both in and out of possession.

“In general the signs have been really good, as much as it’s been tough to take the two cup competitions, this group fights back, works well and we remain consistent in how we work.

“We have a good opportunity in the final seven games now to do many things.”

Team News

Gareth Taylor says Bunny Shaw is fine to face Brighton on Sunday having been withdrawn midway through the second half in City’s FA Cup defeat to Spurs on Sunday.

He said: “Bunny is fine. She’s trained pretty much all the sessions we’ve had.

“That’s good, Bunny and all the players will be important. Every squad member, whether they’re playing or not, the contributions are big.

“Sometimes they probably don’t see it, but off pitch the contributions are also big and its appreciated by the team. That’s going to be key in this final run in.”

LAST TIME OUT

City’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup campaign came to an end last time out after we suffered a 4-3 penalty shootout defeat to Spurs following a 1-1 draw after extra-time.

Mary Fowler’s strike gave us the lead in the first half, before Bethany England’s goal on the cusp of full-time forced extra time.

Following a goalless additional 30 minutes, the hosts at Brisbane Road secured passage into the semi-finals with a penalties victory.

PREVIOUS MEETING

We suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Brighton in November’s reverse fixture at the Joie Stadium.

Lee Geum-Min’s late strike was enough for the visitors to collect three points in Manchester.
