Congratulations to Yui Hasegawa, who has claimed the Joie Player of the Month prize for January.

The Japanese midfielder managed to fend off the sizeable challenge of Kerstin Casparij and Laia Aleixandri to come out on top.

This is her first Player of the Month award, and has been sparked by an incredible month in City’s engine room, in which we maintained a 100% record in three different competitions.

Hasegawa was an ever-present for Gareth Taylor‘s side during that time, with her typical blend of style and substance helping City keep up the pace in the Barclays Women’s Super League title race and progress in the FA Cup and Continental Cup.

The midfielder played with remarkable consistency over the month, but perhaps her most standout performance came in our 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at the end of January.

Indeed, Hasegawa’s quality on the ball and tenacity off it kept City ticking, as an own goal and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw strike helped us cap off a professional display with an important three points.

It’s been a memorable month for our number 25, who also committed her future to the Club until the summer of 2027 by signing a two-year contract extension in January.

Congratulations to Yui on being named Joie Player of the Month, and thank you to everyone who voted!
