Poppy Pritchard will wear the number 17 shirt during her time at Manchester City.

The 18-year-old moves to the Joie Stadium from Championship side Durham, having recently established herself in their senior setup.

Pritchard came on as a second half substitute against City in our recent FA Cup fourth round clash at Maiden Castle, where Gareth Taylor’s side ran out 4-0 winners.

Our new young forward becomes the fifth player to wear the No.17 since 2014, following in the footsteps of several international stars.

Lynda Shepherd took the shirt in 2014 before it was passed on to England attacker Nikita Parris the following year.

Parris donned the same squad number for the entirety of her stay at City, scoring 37 goals in 72 appearances before leaving in 2019.

Since then it has also been worn by South Korean forward Lee Geum-min and most recently by Spanish midfielder Vicky Losada.
