Tara O’Hanlon will wear the number 26 shirt during her time at Manchester City.

The young Irish defender has signed her first professional contract, having joined the Club from reigning League of Ireland champions, Peamount United.

O’Hanlon made her senior debut for the Republic of Ireland in April 2023 in a 2-0 friendly defeat against the United States.

And the 18-year-old will become only the second player to wear the number 26 shirt for City since our official relaunch in 2014.

Before the defender, only Ellie Roebuck had sported the shirt, doing so before she switched to number one ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Roebuck wore 26 from 2016, when she made her senior debut for the Club, through to that summer, making 114 appearances.

O’Hanlon has chosen the number due to it being the shirt she was first assigned when making her debut for the Republic of Ireland.
