The Blues swiped the Terriers to the side at the Etihad yesterday with Gabriel Jesus and David Silva netting fine strikes, a 13th City hat-trick for Sergio Aguero and an own goal making up our goal tally.
Understandably, the media have lots to say about our stunning win, and pick out one man in particular.

First up, Nick Miller of ESPN has named Aguero as his ‘goalscorer of the weekend’.
He writes: “Sergio Aguero‘s hat-trick against Huddersfield took him to 146 strikes, and into the top 10 Premier League goalscorers.
“He has scored those goals in 208 games, meaning that at 0.7, his goals/game ratio is the best of anyone else in the top 10.
“It also means that, if he continues scoring at this rate, he’ll probably overhaul Alan Shearer at the top of the list somewhere around the middle of the 2020-21 season. He’s pretty good.”
Next we turn to the Manchester Evening News’ player ratings from the weekend. Stuart Brennan was impressed with our striker, and also made note of Silva and Benjamin Mendy’s spellbinding performances – even hailing our full-back as the new “assist king”.
On Sergio, Brennan writes: “Absolutely brilliant. The first was innovative, the second opportunistic and the third highly skilled - and he hit the post and forced a couple of top saves. Magnificent – 10.”
On Silva: “His brilliant football mind was behind City’s best work throughout, and he also got off the goals mark for the season with a superb curling free kick – 9.”
On Mendy: “His powerhouse runs down the left have quickly become a new feature of this City team - he linked with Jesus for the second goal and Aguero for the third and fifth - City’s new assist king! 9.”
Elsewhere in the regional newspaper, MEN journalist Dan O’Toole outlines why he believes City could be even more dangerous than last season.
“If the producers behind Manchester City’s fly-on-the-wall documentary want to make a second series of All or Nothing then they might be hard pressed to find a more apt opening scene than Sky Sports reporting that Huddersfield would wait until kick-off to decide their formation to play City,” O’Toole writes.
“That Huddersfield boss David Wagner was seemingly so bemused by City’s teamsheet says a great deal about Guardiola’s innovation and reinvention - key qualities that will be essential in the Blues’ bid to retain the league title for the first time.
“City might have been guilty of becoming predictable after previous Premier League triumphs, but Guardiola has already banished worries of the same stagnation occurring on his watch.
“The six goals that City put past the Terriers provide all the necessary confirmation that this City side can win by any means.
“It is probably naive to fall too far under Guardiola’s spell after just two league games but on the evidence of City’s performances to date, the Amazon crew might want to get their cameras back rolling at the Etihad to capture something special sooner rather than later.”
