Bernardo Silva's thumping strike from 25 yards wasn't enough as Nottingham Forest fought for a 1-1 Premier League draw at the City Ground.

Pep Guardiola‘s men dominated possession and chances in the first 45 minutes, with Rodrigo coming closest to goal, heading just wide from Kevin de Bruyne‘s accurate cross.

Shortly before the interval, Bernardo broke the deadlock with a thunderous first-time shot, which flew into the net beyond Keylor Navas.

We pushed for the second goal after the break and almost had it shortly after the hour mark, but Erling Haaland‘s effort crashed off the bar, before he struck the rebound over.

Ilkay Gundogan was next to come close, as his free-kick was tipped onto the top of the bar and out for a corner by the sprawling Navas.

The second goal simply would not come and the hosts pounced, finding the leveller shortly before full-time, with Chris Wood tapping in at the back post.
