LAST TIME OUT

City recorded our seventh straight victory in all competitions last time out with a deserved 2-0 success over Tottenham Hotspur.

An own goal from Amy Turner handed Gareth Taylor’s side the lead at Brisbane Road after a strong start by the visitors.

That represented the first half’s only goal, but we doubled our advantage soon after the interval when Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw bagged her 10th goal against the Londoners with a venomous strike from inside the penalty area.

The three points meant we are now back within three points of the WSL’s summit as City continued our fine form.

PREVIOUS MEETING

City’s previous meeting with Leicester came in November’s Continental Cup fixture where we were beaten on penalties after fighting back from two goals down to draw at the Joie Stadium.

The visitors grabbed a commanding lead with quick fire goals before half-time through Janice Cayman and Sophie Howard.

Undeterred from conceding twice before the break, Deyna Castellanos halved the deficit before Laura Coombs equalised with 20 minutes to play.

As neither side found a crucial winner, a penalty shootout followed for an extra point.

But with Mary Fowler, Castellanos and Steph Houghton all seeing their spot kicks saved, it meant we had to settle for a single point at home.
